Mortlach is known as ‘The Beast of Dufftown’ – with the distillery’s unique distillation regimen producing a muscular and meaty spirit. This particular expression is notable for being the only Sherried whisky in 2020’s Special Releases outturn, having been finished for a time in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks. Mortlach suits sherry casks, as is shown by this sweet and savoury, and completely delicious, single malt. The power of this dram is illustrated by the red deer stag on its packaging.
