Detailed Description

2016 George T Stagg Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey entered the barrels in the spring of 2001 and spent 15 years and 4 months in Warehouses H, K, L, M & N, 142 barrels were bottled at 72.05% / 144.1 PROOF. At the time of bottling 75.99% of the original barreled whiskey was lost to evaporation therefore it’s estimated 9,120 bottles were produced.

Nose: Lush toffee sweetness and dark chocolate with hints of vanilla, fudge, nougat and molasses.

Palate: Underlying notes of dates, tobacco, dark berries, spearmint and a hint of coffee round out the palate.

Finish: Lingering.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is the oldest continually operating distillery in the United States and includes the rich legacies of master distillers such as E.H. Taylor, Jr, George T. Stagg, Albert B. Blanton, Orville Schupp and Elmer T. Lee. Today, the distillery is still family-owned, operating on the same 130 acres of land adjacent the Kentucky River as it has for over 200 years.
